Phase Failure Monitoring and Protection System on 3 Phase Electrical Panel Against Over Voltage and Over Current Interference Based on IoT

The student who made the title of this Final Project was Andrian Dwi Dharmawan from the D3 Ship Electrical Engineering Study Program.

In the current era, the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) has been widely used by various industries, especially as a medium to monitor the work being done in the industry. With this IoT technology, the industry does not need to be at work to observe the processes that occur, but the monitoring process can be accessed through the internet network anytime and anywhere as long as there is access to the internet by relying on existing active sensors. Today almost all industries try to use this IoT technology because it is very easy to use and very useful. Electric power is a source of energy that is needed by humans today, both home and industrial electronic devices. To get electrical energy as a whole, a distribution network is needed to distribute the electrical energy. However, in its distribution, many problems arise in electricity, especially phase failure at a voltage of 3 phase.

To overcome this phase failure problem, a reliable system that can detect the failure of each R-S-T phase is needed. In this final project, I designed a phase failure protection and monitoring system on an IoT-based 3-phase panel. The goal is to minimize damage to electrical equipment due to phase failure. The system uses the PZEM-004T sensor to measure current and voltage. PZEM-004T sensor data is processed on Arduino Mega and forwarded to Nodemcu to send sensor data to monitoring media via the internet network. The protection system in this final project is designed with two working conditions, namely by being controlled using a smartphone and can also work automatically.
