Design Solar Panel Power Optimization Using IoT-Based Fresnel Lens and Heatsink

The student who made the title of this Final Project was Ardiyan Caesar Pratama from the D3 Ship Electrical Engineering Study Program.

The natural resources of the sun are one of the inexhaustible natural and energy sources that have many advantages. This natural solar resource can be used to supply electrical power through solar panels. The background of this research is that currently the need for renewable energy is increasing, so the optimization of solar panels becomes an alternative so that solar panels can be an optimal and environmentally friendly source of electrical energy. Optimization of solar panels by increasing the output power of photovoltaic power is by increasing the intensity of light received using reflectors. But if the intensity is increased it will cause an increase in temperature that goes along with the increase in light intensity, this will decrease the output power of photovoltaics.

In this study will be practiced The provision of fresnel lenses will make an increase in the higher intensity of light received by reflectors. Like sunlight shining on a magnifying glass so that there is a brighter beam of light. Testing fresnel lenses with solar cells is a way to increase the intensity of light that will fall on the surface of solar panels. So that by installing a fresnel lens will make the power maximization at the output of solar cells greater than solar cells that do not use fresnel lenses. The position of the fresnel at the top is horizontally aligned with the solar cell based on the calculated distance. From this process, it will make the voltage efficiency value increase.
