The student who made the title of this Final Project is Fahar Achmad from the D4 Ship Electrical Engineering Study Program.
At PT XYZ, which is the place where the author carries out On the Job Training, is a company engaged in ship repair, maintenance and modification services. At the company there is a tool that has a function to perform calibration tests on the fuel injection pump of diesel engines on ships that are carrying out maintenance at the company. The tool has damage to the proximity sensor which functions as a fuel injection pump stroke counter. This damage affects the results of fuel injection pump calibration which can be said to be less accurate because it relies on operator intuition.
Based on these suggestions and problems, the author wants to make a replacement system with several new innovations in this final project research, including: monitoring the fuel level in each cylinder to be digital from the previous manual through a measuring cup, automatic data input from the sensor sensor to be installed (flow meter, proximity). The installed sensors will be controlled or monitored through the arduino mega 2560 microcontroller, the data from the sensor will be sent directly to the mini pc and stored in excel. The data stored in the mini pc can be sent to the owner of the fuel injection pump in the form of a file, so that the use of paper can be minimized. It is hoped that the tool in this final project research can improve the accuracy of calibration results and help calibration machine operators.
