The student who made the title of this Final Project was Bima Wicaksono Hardi Syahputra from the D4 Ship Electrical Engineering Study Program.
Overhead crane is a hoist crane located on the roof of a building that functions as lifting and moving heavy equipment in the building. In the meratus workshop, there is an overhead crane that functions to lift tools or goods that will be repaired or worked on in each division. When the overhead crane motor is run, the initial motor rotation will be high and after a while it will run slowly. Then the remote junction box is damaged by the push button.
In this final project research, the author wants to develop the performance of the overhead crane, namely by controlling the speed of the motor, adjusting the position of the overhead crane and monitoring. Control motor speed with rotary encoder sensor and PID control system method, overhead crane position with rotary encoder by determining distance, and web-based monitoring. Innovation by adding safety device, motor speed with PID system, and the positioning of the crane against the point of goods. The safety device that will be used is in the form of a phase failure relay as a motor safety. Then the voltage sensor and current sensor as monitoring on the motor. The rotary sensor encoder motor as the digital input, and the phase failure uses the relay as the digital input. PID control system by adjusting the speed of the DC motor to determine the values of Kp, Ti, and Td. Application of the tool is in the form of a Prototype Overhead Crane Workshop Meratus.
